Christmas chores - Part 3 (Festive kitchen)

New kitchen decorations in New Year theme were created in last two days: tablecloth with wide edging, waffle towels with eyelet and replaceble cover for the cushions on chairs with zip fastener.

And more... a New Year fairy now lives on the clock.

Christmas chores - Part 2 (Christmas wreath)

The second phase of preparation to New Year was creating Christmas wreath.

For the basis we gathered withies fallen after storm. But we coudn't start it immediately that day thus several days later we  moistened it in warm water. 

To make the circle form I took top of simple aluminum can and began to plait twig after twig.

 

When the width of the wreath was sufficient I used threads in several places to fasten it.

Then I attached cones to it with threads. Entwined the bun of the cones and tied it to the wreath. However wire would be much more appropriate.

In the space between the cones I have fixed small decoration balls on a satin ribbon. Grouped it by three items and cycled dull with enameled ones.

 Two twigs of thuja and several of briar literally transformed the wreath. I used satin ribbon to fasten the twigs. Remained decoration balls I fixed in the assumed bottom point of the wreath.

The last step was to make the band to hang the wreath and to make a beautiful bowknot.
Our Christmas wreath is ready.

Christmas chores - Part 1 (Christmas tree)

Whole last week we were busy creating Christmas decorations.

The main goals are safety, beauty, style.

Toys shouldn’t crack up, get broken or smashed even when a baby will pull it from the tree. But they must well-balanced that the number must be big enough even when child takes some.

I decided to sew hearts. I used cotton and remain cloths for curtains.

That is how the first hears appeared.

At the end there was a whole basket of hearts (20 items of each color):

We assembled our Christmas tree and started to decorate it.

And here it is well-dressed and elegant ready for the holidays.

Summer spirit: strawberry field in our kitchen

And here is the beginning of November.

Sunny days happens more rarely and sometimes sky overcast whole day.  Exactly in the days like this the summer is wanted the most.

We were at home, my little daughter and I and we decided to bring a small part of summer at home. We pulled the box with different cloths from storeroom and found long time ago bought shantung cloth and waffle linen with pattern of strawberry field and another cloth with green spots on a bright green field. My daughter loves to play with different cloths and moreover with so bright and colored.

In our kitchen new summer things appeared in two days: strawberry field on the table cover, six waffle towels and a pillow on a chair.

Sling accessories for active moms and their babies; stylish and super cute

Lately I took interest in creating different sling accessories.

The process starts from knitting in natural wooden beans with 100% cotton yarn. The beans obtain intense multicolored variety and colors don't pale after several washes in washing machine in 40°C.

The first Sling necklace I have knitted before my daughter was born. 

It appeared to be very convenient and practical: I wore it as a widget in the beginning and after two month old my little daughter began to play with it. Now she plays with it when looking into the mirror.

When teething started I have made a teathing-beans-toy-rainbow. Lots of staff happened and it helped a lot: teeth cutting, flying in the planes, bathing, getting sleep. Unfortunately we have lost it on a walk thus I have only this photo made on the phone. Similar toys were made for my friends babies (a boy and a girl) and it was very popular among them as well.

For one charming girl, who lives in Dubai, I have made a beans wristlet (she has sent the photo).

In the rainy days of Autumn new cute sling beans accessories were created which can become perfect gifts for  moms and their little babies :)
